[buckminster-dev] Re: Buckminster on 3.3M5+

Hi Aleksander,
I didn't find anything wrong with out update site. Perhaps you used a mirror that wasn't updated correctly or encountered some other network problems during the update? The update-manager doesn't always handle network problems gracefully.

In any case, we've moved on and the features found at 3.3/updates are now for 3.3M6. I think they still are compatible with 3.3M5+ but I would recommend and upgrade.

Regards,
Thomas Hallgren

It works if I unpack feature and plugins from archived update site manually. But I can't figure out why update manager doesn't show PDE feature. I checked site.xml and feature archives and requirements and declarations seem fine to me.

Anyway, materialization works now. Could someone check update site with recent eclipse milestones to confirm the problem ? I used clean distribution when installing buckminster (no other plugins).

This feature is indeed missing. It seems that pdate manager didn't install it. I tried both remote or archived update sites.

I suspected the absence this feature/plugin, so I tried to copy it and related plugins from archived update site. No luck so far. Should it appear in update manager feature selection tree (next to buckminster.core) ?

Hi Alexsander,
This is indeed stragne. Did you install the org.eclipse.buckminster.pde.feature? Is it active?

I have a strange problem. Buckminster is installed (via http://download.eclipse.org/technology/buckminster/3.3/updates), all plugins are enabled, but every materialization I try terminates with:

No Component Specification (cspec) builder with id feature2cspec has been registered with extension-point org.eclipse.buckminster.core.cspecBuilders

For example, when materializing buckminster-dev.cquery, I get:

Errors during resolve
Provider svn(svn://dev.eclipse.org/svnroot/technology/org.eclipse.buckminster/trunk/org.eclipse.buckminster.update?moduleAfterTag&moduleAfterBranch): Resolve failed: No Component Specification (cspec) builder with id feature2cspec has been registered with extension-point org.eclipse.buckminster.core.cspecBuilders Provider svn(svn://dev.eclipse.org/svnroot/technology/org.eclipse.buckminster/trunk/org.eclipse.buckminster.product?moduleAfterTag&moduleAfterBranch): Resolve failed: No Component Specification (cspec) builder with id feature2cspec has been registered with extension-point org.eclipse.buckminster.core.cspecBuilders

This is on 3.3M5eh an 3.3M6
