[birt-report-engine-dev] Report Engine in middle tier

Hi ,

Is there a way , document , tutorial describing how to deploy and access the Reporting Engine running in a middle tier of an application, if possible from the existing viewer running in the presentation tier ?
What type of communication can be used between the two components ? Are there any constraints , or just a java interface ?
