In my previous message on birt-dev, I said...
It looks like the elections for John as PL and Alex as committer failed because we didn't get enough votes. This is likely because the notifications of the ongoing elections got lost in the activity on this list. Since we're still in reboot mode, I've just inserted them into the roles rather than run a second election.
The last sentence is the important bit. I've already inserted Alex into the system to get him provisioned as a committer, so this election is unnecessary. I'm going to delete the record.
FWIW, it appears that Alex's provisioning record just needs final approval from the EMO Records team, which should happen first thing on Monday morning.
There's a lot of moving parts; this election is just part of the fun/confusion in the reboot. Thank you, everybody for your contributions and continued patience as we breathe life back into this project.
I'll open an issue to track the obvious bug in our system that should have prevented the election from being created with the nominee already in the provisioning queue.
