Re: [birt-dev] [EXTERNAL] - Progress of the restructuring of BIRT

Hi Alex,

The last version of BIRT was 4.8 (Photon). You can download it from here: https://download.eclipse.org/birt/downloads/

There are issue with the download links for the All-In-One package and Virgil (cc-ed) here has been looking into fixing these.

We are trying to adjust to the new 4 releases per year cadence. Lack of resources is the key challenge we face. The plan is to have at least one release per year as before.

Thanks,

Mihail

Subject: [EXTERNAL] - Progress of the restructuring of BIRT

Hello Mr. Beaton,

I'm wondering how far the restructuring of BIRT has progressed so far (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=517760). This is important to me because I'd like to know (as a second step) if and when the next release of BIRT can be expected. The last version of BIRT that was part of an Eclipse SimRel was version 47 of mid 2017. I hope BIRT will be able to contribute to a SimRel this year and we could need a PMC that can help in this process.

@Mihail: Are there any plans on the side of OpenText on this matter?

Best regards

Alexander Lehmann
