RE: [birt-dev] BIRT CVS Commit notifications ( was Re: birt-cvs-commitlist )

The checkin notices to the birt-cvs-commit list are very verbose, and
there are often many notices for a single checkin of code. While useful
to someone who wants every last drop of information about what's going
on, the higher level checkin notices that get posted to the birt-dev
list are more useful to those who are not committers, just project users
or developers on other areas of the project.

Subject: [birt-dev] BIRT CVS Commit notifications ( was Re:
birt-cvs-commitlist )

Eclipse already provides this functionality of cvs commit notifications
with diffs.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=87046

I subscribed to https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/birt-cvs-commit
and I am getting checkin messages with the diffs for the checkin. :)

So now that this is already available, it seems like the checkin
messages to birt-dev may not be necessary as this info is automatically
captured in the birt-cvs-commit list.

Comments/Thoughts?

Thanks,
Sunitha.

ps: I sent this mail last night, with the attachment of how the checkin
mail looks like, but it didnt make it to the archives so sending without
the attachment.

As I was googling for 'birt cvs', I came across this link.
https://dev.eclipse.org/mailman/listinfo/birt-cvs-commit

Clicking on the archives gives me a file not found error.

Is this a valid mailing list or is this info outdated ?

Thanks,
Sunitha.
