Improving BIRT Build Information on eclipse.org/birt Web Site
Jason is working to improve the information on the BIRT nightly builds that is available on the web site. No specific changes have been implemented yet, but the goal is to make it easier to determine the quality of a given build from the information that is available on, or linked from, the build page.
IBM Logo on eclipse.org/birt Pages
Mike has confirmed that from IBMs perspective, it is OK to show the IBM logo on the BIRT web pages. Based on this, Jason will update the BIRT site to show the logos from all the contributing companies on the main BIRT page. This is similar to what other projects such as TPTP do.
Tracking/Flagging Code Changes That Impact Web Site
There was discussion on the topic of how to better flag code changes in BIRT that affect the examples and documentation on the BIRT web site. For example, if a UI is changed to improve usability or add new features, this may mean that an online tutorial needs to be updated to reflect the improvements in the product. Right now, it is not easy to determine what changes in the code have an impact on UI or APIs without manually going through every Bugzilla entry that is fixed in a given milestone or release and looking to see if it is likely to have impact.
There were no immediate suggestions on how to improve the process, but Jason was going to talk to Jane Tatchell on the BIRT documentation team to see how they handled the issue.
