Minutes

BIRT 2.0 Release Progress
Building 2.0 M3 release now -- resolving remaining bugs that are assigned to the M3 release. Target date was today, November 21st, but we are holding it a few days in order to address some remaining issues and ensure the quality level is high.

We will have a New and Noteworthy document that lists what will be in the M3 milestone release and this will be published on the BIRT web pages.

BIRT 2.0 Release Review
We are aiming for the week of December 12th for the BIRT 2.0 Release Review meeting.
Callisto and BIRT 2.1 Planning
Starting to work on BIRT 2.1 planning. BIRT 2.1 is planned to be part of the Eclipse Callisto release in June 2005.
Community is encouraged to submit enhancement requests via Bugzilla so that we can incorporate these into BIRT 2.1 planning.

Community, Presentations and Articles
A number of presentations have been given, and new articles have been published on BIRT:
MySQL.com - Article on using BIRT to report on bugzilla: http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/using-birt/
Bay Area Chapter of ACM - Presentation on BIRT: “BIRT: The Open Source Eclipse Reporting Framework"
JavaPolis 2005 - Presentation on BIRT at JavaPolis in Belgium: "Leveraging and Extending BIRT for Reporting in Java Applications"

Zend, PHP and BIRT
The BIRT team have been working with Zend (www.zend.com), the organization behind PHP, to see if we can enable PHP developers to easily access the benefits of BIRT reports in the context of a PHP application. There is a lot of interest here from the PHP guys and we are working on a joint effort to allow BIRT reports to be run directly from PHP.
