122363 is not a bug.  BIRT designer preview tab  doesn't  support SVG auto detection.  By default, the chart will be generated in SVG format when the user click the preview tab inside BIRT designer.  SVG auto detection will be supported in Preview in Interactive Viewer only. 

 

To preview report in firefox on linux, people need to disable SVG output in BIRT preview preference.
