The Babel team is very please to announce the Babel 0.7 Language Packs!

Although the Babel Project is still in incubation, we feel that the language packs are good enough to be consumed by the Eclipse community. Babel is currently setup to accept translation contributions in 34 languages for about 40+ Eclipse projects and sub-projects. Participation for each language and each project may vary. However, for some of the most common projects, the completion percentage is very high. For example, the Eclipse 3.5 project has 6 languages that are 90%+ complete, 23 languages that are 70%+ complete.

The Babel Language Packs are available in 2 forms - Babel Language Pack Zips and Babel Update Site. Please try them at http://www.eclipse.org/babel/downloads.php

Hello all,

I agree with Hendrik. Reserved words must remain untranslatable, especially when they are used 1:1 to create a method stub, in this case "public static void main".
In the case of accelerators we should take the risk of having dupes in favor of an exact translation.

The translation percentage problem could be a dup of https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=279108 , which is fixed recently. Please try again.

Dear Team Members i am doing translation of Eclipse3.5 into my native language Hindi and as i am doing translation daily, the dates appeared there is same all the time and also the amount of translation percentage sometimes increases but sometimes it always shows .1% . I am new to the open source software community and doing this as a university course at Australian National University(http://cs.anu.edu.au/students/comp8440/) and i am submitting a report on the work done and interaction i had with eclipse project.
Can you please tell me about this problem. Your reply will be really useful for me.

[babel-translators] Galileo checklist

Greetings translators,

As you know, the Galileo release is 20 days away, and Babel is currently producing language pack ZIP files for many of the projects participating in the Galileo release.

I'd like to invite the language champions to review the three files below, which include the Welcome screen, many menu items and UI elements. Every file is important, but these three are most likely those that the user will see first upon launching a localized Eclipse installation. I was able to fix a few errors that were introduced with the Babel Syncup.

[babel-translators] Nightly builds for Babel language packs

Translators,

We have recently changed the way we build our language packs:

- Nightly builds now only include the most current (or upcoming) release train. In this case, it is Galileo.
- These are useful for making sure your recent translations were built properly.
- Nightly builds are available from the Developer Downloads site

- Weekly (Integration) builds are performed on Saturday, and include all release trains.
- These builds are also available on the Developer Downloads site

- We will only publish 'official' releases to our Downloads Page after a formal release has occurred.
- You can help us test RC1.

Thanks for all your hard work! Translations for the upcoming Eclipse 3.5 are over 74% complete for 22 languages!

[babel-translators] Successful build

Team,

We finally have a successful build. The update sites are traditional Update Manager site.xml sites (not p2) but at least they are there. The Language Packs are all available for download from the usual location:

I'll work on solving the problem with the p2 site generation. In the meanwhile, there will be no builds at all.
