Thanks Denis. You can certainly spawn a separate process to do the metadata generation.

Note that not all trains need a p2 optimization: Europa should be shipped with the site.xml as it is only compatible with the legacy update manager.

We finally have a successful build.  The update sites are traditional Update Manager site.xml sites (not p2) but at least they are there.  The Language Packs are all available for download from the usual location:

    http://www.eclipse.org/babel/downloads.php

I'll work on solving the problem with the p2 site generation.  In the meanwhile, there will be no builds at all.
