Re: [aspectj-users] Exclude aspects from gutter annotations?

Hi Adrian,

We were talking about something similar fairly recently in the AspectJ/AJDT team.  I have raised an enhancement request in this area - feel free to add yourself to the CC list: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=86106.  I guess my best suggestion at the moment would be to exclude your tracing aspect from the build while you're developing...

Thanks,

Sian

[aspectj-users] Exclude aspects from gutter annotations?

Is there a way to exclude aspects from showing annotations in the
Eclipse gutter?  I can see in the Window > Preferences menu how to
globally turn all annotations on or off, but no way to manage the
annotations on individual aspects.

The reason I ask is that once I add in an aspect for logging or tracing,
there are suddenly gutter symbols everywhere, effectively making the
annotations useless clutter instead of helpful hints.  The remaining
aspects which are meaningful are lost in the noise.

thanks,
-adrian.
