[aspectj-users] Yet another open source effort (aspects in EAI/SOA)

Hi all,

I attended the Serverside Symposium and really enjoyed the participation of Gregor, Ron, et al. I had one of those many open source J2EE/aspect projects going on for quite a while called Adaptive Bus. My vision of the contribution of aspects to J2EE was the ability to decouple the declarative services from the application framework. However, since there are many such efforts at this time, I have moved away from the J2EE side. I think there may be some value in repurposing this project to attack the EAI space. The state of the art in this area is now Service-Oriented architecture (SOA). I think there are many cross-cutting concerns that could be facilitated by AOP. Having worked with EAI for quite awhile I know a particular pain point lies in the area of developing custom adapters. There are several crosscutting concerns here especially in the area of translation. Also, rather than trying to cook my own version of aspects, I am looking to use AspectJ in this effort. Here's the URL for the project:
https://adaptivebus.dev.java.net/
Well, thanks again for info at TSS, I'm really glad to see AOP gaining so much ground.

Jim
