The AspectJ distribution does not
currently include a load-time weaver. We agree that this is an important
and useful feature, and are planning implementation along with the other post
1.1 items. If you want to stay tuned watch aspectj-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx for planning
messages.
Load-time weaving is the sort of self-contained
feature that is great for interested developers to consider contributing.
Martin Lippert has done a very nice job extending the Eclipse Core Runtime with
a load-time weaver, so that might be a good starting point for him or others to build from.

curious about the progress on releasing a custom classloader for AspectJ that
provides load-time
bytecode weaving. The FAQ for
AspectJ refers to this both as a "proof-of-concept" and a
"demonstration" class loader that will be released soon after AspectJ
1.1 comes out. Is it available now? If not, does anyone have a guess as to when
it might be available?
