Re: [aperi-dev] Couldnt make SAN simulator to work

Hi Christian,

The fix suggested by Pallavi fixes the HTTPS problem (defect 205131). I
have checked in the modified setup.bat into cvs. I will work with Todd on
getting the build published.

Setup.bat should be modified to :

java -Djava.ext.dirs=.\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\ext;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext
-jar .\lib\installer.jar

Also, you have to install Sun JDK1.5 or higher and set environment
JAVA_HOME. If, you installed Sun JDK in c:\Java, your JAVA_HOME should be
JAVA_HOME=c:\java\jdk.
Pls. let me know - if you still see the problem connecting to a HTTPS CIM
Agent.,

Hi Pallavi ,
I started SAN Simulator with the following line in setup.bat
java -Djava.ext.dirs=.\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\ext;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext
-jar .\lib\installer.jar
it starts without errors since I installed java in C:\Java
the file exists in the \lib\ext directory
but the problem with the https cimoms is not solved. the test still returns
an error.

Hi Christian,

Please try adding entry for java ext folder in simulator's setup.bat file
explicitly. After adding ext folder path, line in setup.bat will look as
follows:
java -Djava.ext.dirs=.\lib;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\ext;%JAVA_HOME%\jre\lib\ext -jar
.\lib\installer.jar

And just make sure sunjce_provider.jar exists in your java installation's
lib\ext folder. Hope this solves your problem!

Hi Christian,

As far as I know, the current version of SANSimulator doesn't support
taking a snapshot of https cimom. Defect 205131 had opened for this
problem, the developer of SANSimulator is aware of this problem.

Hi,

I have another problem with SAN Simulator when taking a snapshot of a https
cimom (http works)
There seems to be a problem with the SSL connection. The connection test
fails. If I ignore the test result an start the snapshot I get the
