Aperi Team,
I noticed this note on the mailing list and just wanted to remind you all
(I'm sure you already know this, but it's my job to remind people) but
if you update to a new version of Derby, you'll need to get Eclipse Legal
IP clearance for that new version before you check anything in. Thanks.

Upgrade Derby? 
Christoph brought up the possible need for updating Derby.  Such a
change would require a good amount of regression testing.  So we discussed
back and forth the need/urgency of this item (risk/reward).  Christoph
has found a defect.  He will confirm that an upgrade of Derby will
fix his defect.  He will post his results on aperi-dev.  If the
upgrade fixes the defect, we will discuss next steps (likely a Derby upgrade).
 If the upgrade does not fix the defect, we no longer have a compelling
reason to absorb that line item in the immediate future.  We may push
it out for the next release (if it ain't broke, don't... )
