Re: [aperi-dev] SAN, FC switches, HBA discovery and management

Hi,

OK, we'll look for your bugzilla.

Thanks for the report about the typo -- you're exactly right. I think if you look now you'll see it's fixed.

Ted,

Alex and I are working on an Aperi installation in our lab here.

The OSGI server failed to load an ELF32 .so when running on a 64-bit
SLES10 sp1 box. I don't have the library name handy but will file the bug
later. It was also a beta SP1 build so we tried another server.

We've now installed everything on a SLES10 32-bit server, but are
trying to figure out how to get past the GUI's complaint of GID=4 not known
when logging in as root. I googled a bit but couldn't find any admin
setup info (though the error message was found in a TPC document in
Boulder).

Our next experiment will be to see if we can get the device server to
discover some prototype SMI-S Block Services profile providers we've got
running on another device.

Thanks,
Robert

P.S. I think there's a typo in the setup instructions for the binary
download: Section #4 - Download Java Enterprise Edition 1.3 - it says
to copy jh.jar into the various javax.j2ee_1.0.0 directories, should
it be j2ee.jar (not jh.jar)?

Hi Alex,

Good to hear from you!

1 - We don't maintain a specific interoperability list for Aperi, and I
think we should. Given our common heritage with the TotalStorage
Productivity Center product, I can refer your to the supported products
list for it, which should be a close approximation of what Aperi works
with:

       http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=1134&uid=swg21249383

2 - Nope, not a known issue, and I'd like to know more about it. Can you
file a Bugzilla at http://www.eclipse.org/aperi/bugs.php?

3 - Yes. Our current schedule is available at
http://www.eclipse.org/aperi/schedule/AperiContributionSchedule.html. It
shows 0.3 availability on Fri 4/27/07.

[aperi-dev] SAN, FC switches, HBA discovery and management

Hi Everyone,

A few questions:

1. Which brands/models of SANs, FC switches and HBAs will v0.2 of Aperi
discover and manage ?
2. We tried to use Aperi (by installing binary) on 64-bit machine SLES10
and
got an error? Is it known issue ?
3. Is v.0.3 still on track for the end of April, 2007 ?

Thanks.

Alex.
