Re: [amp-dev] Coupling Topcased to AMP

Hi Tony,

Yes, that is certainly one possibility I've considered..the M2M mapping is technically no problem and the activity diagram part is quite straightforward -- *assuming* you want a one-to-one mapping with AMF actions to activity diagram representations. I'm assuming it is the actions that you find hard to grok with the current editor? We do have a simple graph editor but I haven't been able to put it in yet because it relies on the new version of Zest stuff that hasbn't been committed yet. For activity diagrams, if I can put in a plug, the Investigator tool uses this to support actions design and exploration in a very intuitive and dynamic way I think. You can see an example of this in this somewhat outdated http://www.metascapeabm.com/content/view/70/116/ movie -- I need to update that with new examples.

But then you might just as well do modeling support directly in GMF. GMF was originally going to be one of the providers but I ended up finding GMF a bit too heavy-weight and finding that EMF worked better that I'd thought -- not perfectly, but better.

Finally, we have new contributors soon who will be doin a system dynamics front-end that will have a gmf component.

cheers,

Miles
