[alf-events] ALF Alpha On-Time

Title: ALF Alpha On-Time

Dear ALF Team,

What:   ALF POC Demo is ready to show

When:   Feb 16th at Serena HQ in San Mateo CA

Why:    Celebrate success, plan next steps, demo to Eclipse

It is a long time since I written to everyone: apologies for BCCing but I want to avoid treading on confidentiality toes.

I wanted to let everyone know that we are now ready to show off the ALF Proof of Concept Demo. I watched the demo this morning and it was breath-taking in its scope while remaining simple in its execution. It was truly impressive.

Congratulations are well deserved for the entire team of contributors from the requirements team, to the implementation team, to the planning team whove kept us all honest and absolutely on track. We delivered the Proof of Concept when we said we would and with the functionality we promised. Outstanding!

Face to Face Meeting

As a result of this we are organizing a face-to-face meeting for project team partly to thank everyone in person but mostly to plan the next steps that will see us deliver the Release Candidate code towards the end of the of year. During the meeting we will demonstrate the solution to Bjorn Freeman-Benson from the Eclipse Management Organization to solicit his feedback and advice about next steps for the project. Youll have an opportunity to talk to him about the issues you see for the project and Eclipse.

Bjorn has confirmed that he can be at the Serena HQ in San Mateo CA on Thursday 16th of February. We are asking him to join us for an informal lunch an attend the demo in the afternoon. The morning will be taken up with project planning the next steps for ALF.

Agenda below

I we would like to invite you all to meet in person with the other project team members to celebrate the success so far and to plan for the next phase of the project. Accordingly the Agenda for the day is detailed below.

Please RSVP if you will be attending in person (apologies if you get this twice).

Sincerely,

Kevin
