[alf-events] Eclipse ALF POC Schedule Meeting Minutes Fri 10/28 11:00 am PT
|
Title: Eclipse ALF POC Schedule Meeting Tue 10/18 8:00 am PT
Attendees: Serena, Segue, University of Toronto,
Catalyst
Team has achieved all of their planned tasks for
this week!
Open items that we need dates for:
> Secure target for their Working Stub
> Hardware/software installation - Serena working on obtaining
the hardware. Will keep teams posted on this progress next week and then
we'll finalize the dates/plans for this.
Installation of working stubs - will be easier if everyone uses the same
version of Tomcat. May be an issue for some folks where they have this
bundled. Tim will work this out with the POC participants as we start to
install everything. Possibly we could run 2 versions of Tomcat on the same
server or multiple VMWare images if needed (this makes it more complex).
Do we want to have a command line execution of the POC to test the
services? Having both the client and the stub to test this would be
good. Segue has a suite of J Unit tests but no command line to test
this. POC Service teams should plan on creating a command line
execution or some client to test the Web Service on its own if
possible.
Action item - Decide on sample project for POC that's
testable, buildable, scanable, & runable - Bob @ Segue sent a suggestion on a project - Eclipse RCP
project. Team is OK with this as the selection unless there are
any objections by Secure or if any issues are
encountered.
Action item -
Finalize versions of software to run - Java, TomCat, etc. - Tim sent list.
Team is evaluating this list. If anyone has issues with any
of these they should send the list of what doesn't work for them to Tim as well
as the preferred alternative.
Action item -
Determine how to handle Req POC1 - Project Names in Code Scan
Service - To make this work we need to identify what the project is
through each of the tools. Team didn't think this would be an issue.
Catalyst executes a "build job" which is a layer on top of the project, so
they can make it match the project name. The assumption is the
directory is communicated to the build and it works on that directory.
When you set up the build job you state the directory. The build job is
predefined via a set of commands and will have the name of the project.
For test, the assumption is similar, we've built or deployed to some directory
- the set of predefined tests can be referred to by the project
name. We will give it a directory and it will scan it. Will need to
verify this is OK with Secure as well. Assumption is that we can pass
the project name around and this will be OK for the POC. Will need to
evaluate further past the POC how this is
handled.
Tim will be out the end of
next week, so if you need him for anything get with him early next
week.
Proposal that we post the
WSDLs on the Eclipse site. Team would like to hold off until these are
finalized. Until then they can be shared internally among the group.
Team would like to have an ftp site or something we could share them internally
until then. Team agreed it will be best to view these by the VMWare
once this is complete. In the interim, Steve will setup an FTP
site for the team to share by Monday and email the POC group this info.
Proposed
Milestone schedule to post:
> 11/4 WSDLs
Created
>
11/30 Web Service Implementation & BPEL Engine

>
12/15 POC Integrated
> 12/31 POC Tested & Finalized
> mid-Jan Demo (need to
finalize target) - Mirinda will follow up with
Kevin/Ali on the date to set for this
> Any feedback on the milestones, let Mirinda know by end
of day Monday. We'll plan to post mid-next week. Mirinda will
finalize the milestone task names with Tim.
Updated project plan/action item list will be posted later
today.
Thanks
Mirinda
