[alf-dev] RE: From ALF Main Page

Dear Steve,

Fascinating question! I am surprised no one has asked before: certainly
we hadn't thought about it.

One of the aspects of ALF is that it not only improves the overall
stability of integrations but that it enables multiple tools to be
choreographed together in support of an organizations defined policies
and processes for software development. The openness and ease of
integrating tools within the framework also enables the development
community to add more tools in support of their development efforts
providing more feedback about the progress of the project.

ALF documents the process that is being used through the BPEL
orchestration layer and the framework allows the choreography of the
tools to be modified as improvements in the process and interoperability
are discovered. These too are requirements of increasing maturity as
defined by CMM.

Sincerely,

Kevin

Kevin,

I was curious how the ALF project fits into the
Capabilities Maturity Model.

Will ALF help vendors and companies reach
different level of CMM.

Thanks,

Steve
