Re: [actf-dev] Is it possible to build HtmlChecker with Eclipse Juno(4.2)?

Thank you for your instruction.

I'll check those.

I apologize my late reply. The attached mail was categorized into spam
folder and I did not notice it...

ACTF's Validation engine, except usability visualization/evaluation part,
can work alone (without ACTF's internal Web browser). Please check HTML
Checker example below.

http://www.eclipse.org/actf/downloads/tools/htmlchecker/

(Please visit "actf.examples" git repository
 git://git.eclipse.org/gitroot/actf/org.eclipse.actf.examples.git
instead of CVS. )

As described in your review result, if you want to use whole functions
(incl. usability visualization/evaluation), you might need to develop your
own automation engine that uses ACTF's internal Web browser. Or, you can
wrap your own browser by using ACTF's IWebBrowserACTF and other related
interfaces.

I hope this information will help your use of ACTF.

Many thanks,
Kentarou

Fukuda san

Thank you very much!
May I ask you another?

I'm considering to automate this kind of test, which miChecher does. My
idea is to integrate with Selenium.

But after doing rough review of the codes of miChecker, I suspect that
miChecker hardly depends on Eclipse's internal web browser.

It it possible to completly separate the content evaluating(validating)
proccess from the fetching process, in current archtecture?

Best,

Tsuru-san,

Yes. We must update instructions/documentations to enable users to check
out the latest code from Git.

I increased an importance of this update [3], and will work for it soon.

Fukuda san,

Thanks! I got it.

The most confusing thing is what are described in instruction manuals
for developers.
All through the manuals, CVS is used as project's repositories.
But I'm afraid that eclipse.org stops CSV service, including proxy.

Fortunatly, I've found the new git repos at : http://git.eclipse.org/c/,
Then I successfully finished to compile & run latest version of the
miChecker (1.0.2).

I think, It seems hard to find the new repos for other devs. So,
"Updating the manuals" is my another request!

Best,
