Hello,
I would suggest to add another mode of opening Eclipse, ie not in IDE mode, but
more in editor mode like we could find with Textpad... This mode would contain
only an editor and maybe the ressource view... We could have autocompletion or
some of these features for java related files, but not a lot... The editor could
be opened by right clicking on a file in the windows explorer for instance... we
also could open the editor in the "eclipse mode" without selecting the file into
the explorer. In this case, the usual choice dialog would be opened to offer to
choose the workspace we want.
The idea is to have a quick-to-open and reactive editor for small modifications.
Up to know , without 1GO of memory, eclipse is very quite slow to open, refresh,
and so on... and for very quick changes, it is not convenient. Today, when I've
to do this, I use Textpad
regards
Xavier

Nick, is this worth packaging a secondary app?
