update based on requirements group review Wayne, How would you propose we could do this? its a boot strapping problem in the remote case. If the desire is to do this only locally then that is possible. Please advise Certainly from a user experience perspective it would be valuable to have this enhancement for both the local and remote case. However, I certainly understand the challenge with getting this to work in the remote case. So it seems reasonable to scope this enhancement for the local case. This would at least improve the user experience for users interested in profiling and testing (using the RAC/data collector) in the local case. Hyades already provides executable for RAC. The UI can start RAC by executing this. Transfered to UI component as the work belongs there. Note that this will only be available in the local scenario since you can't start the server on a remote machine. This is probably superceded by the IAC in TPTP 4.1. The IAC kicks in when no RAC is running, so the symptom described here (for the local case) doesn't exist any more. With the support of IAC, this is a service that no longer require. Please see bug 74652 for more information. I am marking this enh request as resolved As of TPTP 4.6.0, TPTP is in maintenance mode and focusing on improving quality by resolving relevant enhancements/defects and increasing test coverage through test creation, automation, Build Verification Tests (BVTs), and expanded run-time execution. As part of the TPTP Bugzilla housecleaning process (see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Bugzilla_Housecleaning_Processes), this enhancement/defect is verified/closed by the Project Lead since this enhancement/defect has been resolved and unverified for more than 1 year and considered to be fixed. If this enhancement/defect is still unresolved and reproducible in the latest TPTP release (http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads/), please re-open.
