'smart insert/insert/override' can be toggled by double clicking on the status line

line numbers you can double click on and you get a goto dialog

the 'writable/read-only' indicator is kind of 'dull' in this respect - you
cannot click on it to change the file's read only state. which is inconsistent.
Also, because there's no 'show in package expolorer' for non - java files i
actually have to *go and find the file* myself to open the properties and change
that little flag. ('go to' is there but only in the menu bar which is
inconsistent with the java editor - i should enter a separate bug report).

this could be made so much simpler.

This feature, to toggle read-only by clicking on status line, was also requested in
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=77209

Yes, but Platform Text is the right place for the request.
