I think in 2.1, when you closed an editor, the last active editor before the 
one that was closed would be activated.

Consider this scenario.  Say you have two java editors open -- 1 and 2, in 
that order from left to right -- and you are editing 1.  You hit F3 in there 
somewhere to look at some other class.  Editor 3 is now opened and made 
active.  Once you are done looking at it, you hit Ctrl+F4 to close that 
editor.  At this point, editor 1 should be activated so that you can continue 
with your work.  I believe that is what it used to do in version 2.1.  But in 
the current implementation, editor 2 would be shown.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
