Description Randy Hudson CLA 2004-04-09 10:04:14 EDT
I am using single-select to open editor. Every time you select a file which is
not already opened, it is opened, and then part focus is thrown to the editor
part. This happens in several views, including Navigator and Packages.

For some reason, it does not happen once eclipse starts auto-closing editors
if you have a threshold set.

I was confused by this behaviour in earlier releases but I cannot reproduce it
in M9 in neither the Navigator nor the Package Explorer.

Randy do you agree that this is now fixed.
Comment 3 Randy Hudson CLA 2004-06-02 14:23:49 EDT
No, it's definitely not fixed in RC1. Turn on single-click to open. Select a
warning in the problems view. Then, while that resource's editor is open,
select a second warning in the same resource. Focus is thrown to the editor,
and the problems view has its input reset to show only that resource's problems.

This seems to be fixed in the navigator view, but that is not the interesting
case. The problems view is a consumer of the selection service, so the problem
is worse there because the editor signal out new selection. If you are looking
through all problems for a given project, it is really annoying when you have
to keep going back and reselecting the project.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
