Similarly to what m2e provides, Platform/Resource could propose a preference in the Workspace page to allow automatically hiding (setHidden(true)) the folders that match a nested projects and maintain the state of hidden folders on projects addition/removal.
This can advantageously replace UI hacks placed here and there and shouldn't harm in most cases.
