- open the Preferences dialog
 - type some characters in the filter (upper left corner text entry field)
 - select in the tree one of the shown (now bold) items
 - clear the filter text

Result:
 - selected tree item (and therefore the right panel) gets reset to the parent of the previous selection

Expected:
 - the selection stays after clearing the filter

This was OK in Eclipse 4.11, and does not work any more in 4.13 and 4.15 (ie: now it works as described above)
