There was a fix merged today which addresses some of the double scaling issues on Wayland -- see bug 507020. Please try tomorrow's I-build (nightly build) and see if the issues are fixed. You can find them at: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/ Thank you for your reply. I will test tomorrow and comment here. (In reply to Markus Rathgeb from comment #0) > I tried to use the Eclipse IDE for (I assume years) on KDE Wayland from time > to time. > But after one or two starts I switched back to set GDK_BACKEND to x11. > > Is Wayland better supported on Gnome then on KDE? > I see several scaling errors e.g. all text that identify the tabs. > Also the package explorer content, the outline content etc. are to big. There are some issues with KDE Plasma. Can you please let us know the OS you are using? I will check and see how we can fix I am using Gentoo + the KDE portage tree overlay to get the most recent KDE version. I will test it this evening or tomorrow. HiDpi is better supported on Gnome on both X11 and Wayland. I would suggest using Gnome as it uses scaling from OS. I created a new user to ensure that no specific user settings affect the result. I used eclipse-SDK-I20190724-1800-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz and tried on a Plasma Wayland session and a Weston Wayland session. On both session the UI does not look as it should be as soon as a scaling of 2 is set. What information can I provide to help as good as possible? Screenshots? Debug logs? ... Should I test several environment variables to ensure that no system setting affect the test? Any news to get Eclipse IDE working correctly with KDE / Plasma on Wayland?
