This scenarion was originally mentioned by Nick in bug 30529.

The current perspective and current view are used to determine the list of 
views that show up in the Navigate/Show in menu. However, it may be desirable 
to have contributions to this list made by others as well, much like object 
contributions allow menus to be added to a view. For instance, it would be 
nice if the Resource History view appeared in the Show in menu of a Java 
perspective for resources mapped to CVS. As it is now, we contribute a Show in 
Resource History to the Team menu. This works fine but is inconsistent.

There are currently no plans to work on this although we would be happy to review patches.
