Users of our product complain that the content assist window closes as soon as they input a sequence for which there are no suggestions.

E.g. if the user inputs a typo while the content assist window is open, the window will close itself. The user then needs to delete the typo characters and invoke the content assist window *again*.

It would be better if the content assist window would be stay open, despite having no suggestions. The user could then continue editing whatever they are typing while still being helped by the content assist.

There will be some characters where we want to close the popup, e.g. on space or semicolon.
