I think the interesting functionality is at the org.eclipse.jdt.internal.ui.text.correction package as *SubProcessors classes. As far as I can see those do not have UI functionality directly but the proposals that they produce that are subclasses of org.eclipse.jdt.ui.text.java.correction.CUCorrectionProposal have UI functionality. One idea that comes to my mind is to refactor the non UI functions from SubProcessor classes and use them from core. WDYT? This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
