Description David Balažic CLA 2016-10-05 14:59:58 EDT
Using Eclipse 4.6.1 (Neon.1) on Windows 7, when an Aero Windows GUI theme is selected, the tree views in Eclipse do not show a line connecting the elements, making it harder to see what element belongs to which parent.

When the OS switches to the classic theme, the tree view shows the lines (and uses +/- signs instead of triangle symbols).

See [1] for screenshot (in the question). An answer there suggests that the "old style" tree-view is not available in Aero themes, but a tree-view with lines is used in some Windows applications, like the Registry Editor and Device Manager (see screenshot at [2]).

Would it be possible to allow using a tree-view with the lines in Eclipse? At least in some Eclipse themes (like "Windows Classic" for example).

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
