In a container creation tool (or any other creation tool), add a "Select model element variable" configured with a tree.

The, when typing in the search field of the wizard, it doesn't expand the tree, if the searched element is a leaf of the tree.

Steps to reproduce: 
. open the attached diagram
. select one of the provided tools
. type a in the filter section

Note: the provided VSM contains 2 selection wizard tools (tree and !tree) and 2 generic tool with a select element variable (tree and !tree). I noticed a difference between the generic tool wizard and the other ones: it uses the contained variables to compute the precondition, the use of a selectElementModelVariable triggers the popup for each precondition check.
