I frequently have the situation where I have two or more different versions of one project in my workspace. Each of these ´projects can be very big. In order to save resources, I usually close them save one.

Now, to compare two different versions of the same file, I must open the other project version (Remember: Big project, can take quite some time), then navigate to the corresponding file, click it once, navigate back to the current file, Ctrl-click it and select "Compare each other". This works, but not overly well.

A much better variant would be for me to click on the current file, select a new menu entry "Compare with..." and then select the other file. Ideally, this might even be an external file, outside of the workspace.
