If you check the two options in the Push Confirmation:

[X] Push only if remote refs don't change in the mean time
[X] Show final report dialog only when it differs from this configuration report

It doesn't seem to remember them (have to click this every time).

It would be nice-to-have if this selection was saved (e.g. simply as workspace-wide pref, no UI).

That would be nice. I added the "helpwanted" keyword which means that patches are welcome, see our contributor guide here:
