Properties View unable to collapse
If you need access to our NL fragment, please contact Tod Creasey. We need developer to take a look and shed some light. Cannot replicate in RC1. I checked using the plugin.xml of the suggested file and could not make it happen. We are using RedHat 8.0 Professional, and have to manually set the libraries to run on GTK 2.2. Sounds like a GTK 2.2 specific problem. Could you add this problem to the readme? -Unable to use "+" function to expand and collapse properties view for Korean The "+" function does not work for Korean in the properties view window to expand and collapse properties using the mouse and clicking. Alternate solution is to use the keyboard(left_arrow, and right_arrow) to collapse and expand respectively. -Dialong fonts need to be set manually to ensure proper dialog button display for Korean. Go to Window -> Preferences. Expand Workbench -> Font. Select Dialog Font. Click Change button and select gothic font. Click Apply. Your font problem is not a general Korean problem - it is with a particular configuration (yours - we still have to figure out what is different) that has a large font and problems rendering the + in trees. We should not readme something that does not generally occur unless we have specifics on the configuration that has this problem. Was this cleared up by upgrading to GTK 2.2.1 It did, with the GTK version from Felipe Heidrich. The screenshot you have shown does have the tree expanded and the - indicates that this has happened. Are you sure that your steps are correct? In the properties view location is a leaf node and cannot be expanded or collapsed. when clicking on the file, it is already expanded. You cannot collapse it. This was just an example of many other situations that could occur. However, using GTK 2.2.1, this does not occur. So the PR should read "Not able to collapse tree in properties view"? Also the screenshot is for the Info entry not the location entry which cannot be expanded or collapsed. The properties view uses a TableTree whereas the rest of the UI generally a Tree (from a quick search all of our uses of TableTree are subclasses of the PropertiesViewer). Hwa indicates that this problem does not occur with trees (such as the ResourceNavigator). Hwa could you check the Table Tree example in org.eclipse.swt.examples.controls and see you have the same problem there. When you install the examples you can find it by opening the SWT Custom Controls View. I am able to expand in the SWT custom controls view, however, this is from the examples, and there is no translation for these examples. One more thing to try - as we have had trouble with the default font in your set up try switching the default Linux Font (via the font dialog in Preferences->Font from the RedHat menu) to one that has been fine for you in the past (like the Gothic font). Then start Eclipse and see if the problem persists. Eclipse does not launch successfully under certain fonts. There is no gothic font available under the menu, only kochi gothic. When switching to kochi gothic, all the fonts do not appear correctly. Nick, Jeff, Here is the update of the readme: -Unable to use "+" function to expand and collapse properties view for Korean: Users who download and compile new versions of GTK, for example to gain DBCS support in GTK 2.2.0 on RedHat 8.0, will encounter the "+" function not working correctly for Korean. In the properties view window, the "+" function cannot expand and collapse the properties tree by clicking using the mouse. The alternative solution is to use the keyboard(left_arrow and right_arrow) to collapse and expand respectively. Combined this with the readme item for bug 38604 and made a few edits. The item now reads: Problems in Korean translation on GTK 2.2.0 (Linux GTK only) Users who download and compile new versions of GTK, for example to gain DBCS support in GTK 2.2.0 on RedHat 8.0, will encounter the following problems using the Korean translation. Some of the text font may get clipped at the top, or windows may resize out of the viewable area. To circumvent this problem, we recommend setting a high screen resolution, for example 1280x1024, and setting the Dialog Font and Banner Font to a gothic font. The latter can be done in the Workbench > Fonts preference page. In addition, in the Properties view, the expand/collapse control ("+"/"-") has no effect. The workaround is to use the arrow keys instead: Left Arrow to collapse, Right Arrow to expand. (bugs 38604 and 38598). Closing |
