Description Jon Eaves CLA 2003-05-11 03:24:54 EDT
The current implementation of extssh does not include the capability to
configure an identity file for use instead of a password.

It is very important that keys can be configured for use by the internal cvs/ssh
client.

Using an ext client does not always provide the best user experience, especially
under Windows where some versions of the OS (Win2k for example) open console
windows. This is a workaround however.

The best way to integrate Eclipse with an ssh client and use keys for
authentication is to use the ext connection method. However I agree that the ext
method is not easy to use (e.g. the console problem can be fixed) and we will
fix these problems with ext.

However we don't have any plans of modifying the current extssh method. Instead
we will look at integrating an ssh2 client that would support keys.
