Move to JDT/UI. Restoring open editors is done by platform/ui Aaron, Exactly which version of Eclipse are you using? Can you check the .log file (found under .metadata directory). Usually, if the open files are not re- opened when you restart Eclipse it is because you crashed when Eclipse was being shutdown. Version: 2.1.0 Build id: 200303272130 I truncated .log, opened eclispe, opened a file in the my current project, closed eclipse and re-opened eclipse. No file opened by eclipse and .log contains nothing Open the preference dialog, in the Workbench > Editors preference page, is the option to close all editors checked? Do you have other plugins installed beside just the Eclipse SDK? If so, can you reproduce this problem with just the Eclipse SDK? I did have close all editors checked. I unchecked it and everything works fine now. Thank you for the help and my appologies for the bone-head bug 8-) Do you remember setting that preference and then just forgot about it? Or did it only get checked after you upgraded to 2.1? I was running 2.1 for some time before the problem appeared. I was looking through the properties for something, I can't remember exactly what, and I thought that I had accidentally unchecked it, so I re-checked it. |
