Description Thom Haynes CLA 2010-09-07 23:36:42 EDT
Build Identifier:

IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) Search: the results uses tab text that is very generic, just 'Search'. I think it would be much more usable if the tab said what specific type of search the results are for, such as 'File Search', 'Java Search' etc.

I like that when ones an RTC Work Item query the results tab says 'Work Items'.

RTC dev said: "this is an Eclipse view that RTC uses. If you go to the 'search dialog', you'll see the different options that include Java and Jazz."

Reproducible: Always

The view title needs to be static since it is also used at other places (e.g. Show View, Show In, etc.). See also bug 324575.

We could show the current search result type in the hover or in the description area. Maybe we could also add it to the search label which is shown in the history.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
