Description Philipe Mulet CLA 2003-02-03 05:03:15 EST
Build 20030129

It would be useful to get the hover help for types in hierarchies as well, this
would feel quite natural to get it to work there as well (in particular it
contains information I often miss like fully qualified type names)
Comment 1 Dirk Baeumer CLA 2003-02-03 05:12:03 EST
The latest build contains a "Show Qualified Type Names" action in the view's
menu.

Philippe, what else should the hover help show.

If we add more hover information it should be consistent with the Package
Explorer, Outline, ...

No action planned to change this for 2.1
Comment 2 Philipe Mulet CLA 2003-02-03 06:53:39 EST
All I was asking for is the similar type of hover I get inside a Java editor.
But now I see the option, I agree I can live without it (though it might be
useful to see javadoc).
Comment 3 Dirk Baeumer CLA 2003-02-03 07:22:39 EST
I agree on the "usefullness". But 2.1 is very close...
Comment 4 Markus Keller CLA 2006-02-16 12:47:36 EST
It would be nice if we could show javadoc hovers on IJavaElements in views too. I've seen hovers on tree and table items in other Eclipse-based products, and it felt quite "natural".

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
