Fixing bug 295894, an API method has been deprecated. This method was not removed for 3.6M6.
So we request PMC approval to get rid of it before 3.6 ships.

Note, that the method in question was just introduced in 3.6M3 (bug 215139).
Also, an alternative has been added in bug 295894.

Mentioning both issues to illustrate the fairly low risk of the removal.
