It would be cool if it was possible to hover over the (-) icon in the annotations bar and to have a) the region in question to change its background colour or b) have the background of the area outside the region in question change its background colour. This will provide a more obvious visual cue to the user as to what lines the region stretch over instead of having to look at that thin vertical line.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
