Changes to support Eclipse 3.5/CDT 6.0 g.watson: iplog+

Description Jeffrey Overbey CLA 2009-06-21 11:23:31 EDT
The current version of Photran in HEAD supports Ganymede (Eclipse 3.4/CDT 5.0). The September release should support Galileo (Eclipse 3.5/CDT 6.0).

From a quick check, it looks like changes in CDT only cause the editor and launch/debug shortcuts to fail to compile.

Instructions from Greg (ptp-dev 6/29/09):

For the move to 3.5/6.0, I think you'll want to create a 4.0 branch and rename HEAD to 5.0. We can keep building 4.0 as long as you want to keep maintaining it, but there will never be an official release of it. The main Photran release will then be 5.0 to coincide with the PTP 3.0 release.

Once you've done the branch, you'll need to update version numbers in all the features to 5.0.0.qualifier. Let me know when you've done this and I'll update the releng files to start building 5.0.

I have created a photran_4_0 branch, applied this patch to HEAD, and updated the plug-in and feature version numbers and the VPG database version. So everything in HEAD expects Photran 5.0/CDT 6.0/Eclipse 3.5.

Greg, if you could update the release engineering scripts and then close out this bug, I'd appreciate it.

Jeff

Releng now updated. See http://wiki.eclipse.org/PTP/builds/photran/5.0.0

I need to change the Photran feature to require CDT 6 rather than CDT 5.0.1...

Done -- 5.0 build installs successfully.
