e.g. in Java development, i sometimes need to open the subtree of a class
(*.java tree node) in the Package Explorer so that i can select a method and
the editor jumps to the method. these subtrees could be rather large and if you
have several subtrees open, you waste your time by scrolling in the package
explorer or closing the open subtrees.

it would be a cool feature that a subtree automatically closes if the
corresponding editor is closed. i guess it's not too difficult to implement, as
the editor has the node name and all it is to do is make a collapse() on this
node. :-)

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
