Add a key binding that selects the current word.  Selecting the current word is
currently only supported by double-clicking on the word with the mouse.  It would be nice if I could select a word without leaving the keyboard.

This was previously addressed in both Bug #50758 and Bug #23080 but both were marked as dupes and nothing was resolved.

Bug 23080 is still open. In Java editors, there's 'Edit > Expand Selection To > Enclosing Element', which does something like this.
