I try apply your patch to the HEAD version after some refactorings because of the changes (new EditParts mainly) but do not apply this change on EPackage elements. Indeed, with Compartement that do not arrange their children in a list layout, it may be interesting to keep the default behavior in order to ease selection of several figures in the Compartment in a single action.
