Description Matthew Mazaika CLA 2008-04-11 08:24:51 EDT
In the file:
eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.jdt.core\org\eclipse\jdt\internal\compiler\batch\messages.properties,

We came across the following sentences:

compiler.version = 0.845, pre-3.4.0 milestone-6

Could you please explain the significance and meaning of that sentence?

Thanks,

Others please correct me if I'm wrong:
- '0.845' is synchronized with the CVS tags we use for JDT Core on eclipse.org;
  more specifically, 0.845 tells you that the JDT Core you have in your hand
  matches v_845 sources if it is coming from an I-build, or else that it matches
  the sources of a time between v_844 (exclusive) and v_845 (inclusive);
- 'pre-3.4.0 milestone 6' means we were marching towards 3.4.0 M6 at that time.

(BTW, Frédéric, I believe that the current value is lagging; shouldn't it be
milestone 7 by now?)

This is not something that is intended to be translated.

Resolving as INVALID because this is rather a question than a bug, and we try
not to use WORKSFORME or WONTFIX in such cases - the question is legitimate and
pls see no offense in the INVALID keyword.

As per JDT/Core process, marking as verified for 3.4M7
