Repo sample

Build ID: M20080221-1800

Steps To Reproduce:
[Repo sample soon to be attached.]

In Eclipse 3.3.2:

1. Import Repo.zip
2. Run as plugin
3. Window -> Show View -> Other -> Sample Category -> Repo View

Repeat in Eclipse 3.2.2 and compare the results.

More information:
Upon porting a plugin from Eclipse 3.2.2 to 3.3.2, I noticed that composite images (CompositeImageDescriptor) sometimes result in black backgrounds.

As the original plugin is far too large and complex to post, I have recreated a much smaller sample to reproduce with. (Please remember that the repo is very simplified just to show the behavior; the full plugin actually does use composite images in numerous places.)

The repo shows a non-composite, normal image in a label. Next it shows the same image run through a composite descriptor. Both display as expected.
Next, it shows a table. Column 0 shows the non-composite, normal image. Column 1 shows the same image run through a composite descriptor.

The results differ between Eclipse 3.2.2 and 3.3.2. In 3.2.2, in all cases the image is clear as is expected. In 3.3.2, column 1 results in a black image while the result display as expected. See (soon-to-be) attached images.

This may be a variation on bugs 168295 or 147072; however, both are marked fixed.

Environment: WinXP SP2 (Japanese), default (non-classic) style.

This looks like a dupe of bug 129755 but that should've been addressed in 3.3.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
