'Sort Members' is not just an Appearance pref but also Code Style.

We could add a link to the 'Code Style' page or add a copy of the 'Sort Members' page to the 'Code Style' node.

Maybe we should finally separate the two settings. That way the sort order could also become project specific.

I think the "Members Sort Order" should be project-specific as that order can be referenced in the (additional) save actions of a specific project.

In our team, we use project-specific save action "Sort members" to ensure a common sort order (and to avoid superfluous code changes in our repository), but some team members changed the sort order in their workspace setting which renders the approach useless.
